From 2009 to 2017, Steve Vavrek served as the elected First Selectman for the Town of Monroe. During this time he was also very active on the Bridgeport Regional Business Council EDC Commission as well as on the METRO Council of Government. Prior to that, he served many years as an elected member of the Monroe Town Council and the Monroe Board of Finance. In addition, Steve has worked many years as a sales manager and has sold various wine and liquor accounts statewide for Connecticut Distributors and Brescome Barton Distributors. Steve had been a Monroe resident for over 30 years and was an active member of the Rotary Club of Monroe and board member for the United Way of Coastal Fairfield County. Currently Steve is a board member on CEDAS,the Connecticut Economic Development Association.

Steve and his wife now reside in Milford, CT.
